Bounce Rubber Bands & The World Record Rubber Band Ball

Bounce Rubber Bands is excited to announce our sponsorship of Bonny Becherer, Rhyan Bradley and Kate Johnson in breaking the Guinness World Record for the biggest rubber band ball!

The school-aged friends from Melbourne, Victoria, are well on their way to breaking the current world record rubber band ball and are determined to beat the record by the end of 2019.

The current world record rubber band ball was made by Joel Waul from the USA. “Megaton”, as Waul named it, stands over 2 meters tall and has a circumference of almost 8 meters. It took four years to make, used 730 000 rubber bands of all different sizes and weighs in at a whopping 4097 kilograms! It now permanently resides in Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum in Orlando, USA.

But this is no match for the girls. Currently, their rubber band ball “Arnold” is 13 kilograms and is around the size of a basketball. This is the student's second attempt at the world record after their first ball bounced onto a roof. With three determined girls behind the creation and a little help from Bounce Rubber Bands, we are sure they will be able to tackle the challenge this time around!
